Please note As the locations may be very cold Spooks Events advise guests to wear warm clothing. Sensible footwear is a must as not all venues have even flooring. Also as the Ghost Hunt events take place over night and with no lighting please ensure you also bring along a torch for health and safety. There is also no sleeping facilities available,our Ghost Hunt events involve being awake all night. All guest must be over the age of 18
Important If anyone is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and/or bring alcoholic drinks to a Ghost Hunt Event will not be allowed to stay and be asked to leave the premises immediately
Local folk lore suggests that Chavenage House is haunted by Kings Charles 1 shortly after his execution in 1648, the headless ghost of the king is reputed to have appeared at Chavenage House during the funeral of Colonel Nathaniel Stephens who fell ill and died a few months after the King's death. Local legend has the King's Coach arriving at Chavenage House where the ghost of Nathaniel Stephens climbed into the coach and drove away with the King. It is said that if you are in the area of the tree-lined lane you may see the coach heading away from the house. Chavenage House also also has other spooky events including a levitating bed, the "grey lady" and the appearance of a spectral monk within the chapel.
